I'm looking for a diy for gridded fusible interfacing. My local fabric store doesn't carry it in the store and I'd have to buy a whole bolt online I know there has to be a way to diy it. I tried lightweight fusible interfacing and drawing lines myself but oh, it just shriveled up into a big wad! Any suggestions?

Draw the grid on paper using a Sharpie, then place the interfacing over it. The lines show through pretty well. I pin everything flat to an "ironing board" I made Sharon Schamber style that is big enough to hold the whole thing.

Walmart has it on the bolt here sold by the yard. It's by Pellon. I've never tried to make it. I don't mind mailing you some.

That's so thoughtful! My local Walmart doesn't carry it. I ordered some on line but I was just curious as to if I could make it myself. I just can"t believe that you offered to do that for someone you don't even know! Merry Christmas!

I bought this June Taylor pressing board on one side and cutting mat on the other. the pressing board side is gridded, that what i use for 1 inch grid. lay you lightweight fusible interfacing on it with the fusible side up, I put down my 1 inch pieces on it lining them up. I lightly press them to adhere them then mist with water or a wet pressing cloth to firmly adhere them by iron/pressing them again. It helps if you cut your pieces just a smidge smaller for ease of folding this for sewing. This is how i made the mini quilts in my avatar.

Carmen Geddes. That's how she does her patterns. On the grid paper. And she has lots of sizes and patterns. You can buy a set to make a specific pattern or just buy sheets. She is quite an amazing lady... look her up.
