I started putting grommets in the bookmarks I'm making and they aren't going through the second side before closing! I did three--and none of the three worked correctly! Bah!!

1. Why isn't it working? I made these last year and all was well. Do they wear out somehow?

2. Can I save the three that are botched??? Please say yes. I don't want to make more!

A hammer, huh? I'll willing to go that route if it works.

I applied some glue to the three with raw edges.

Dang--why does something so simple need to be so complicated?

I tried putting grommets on a bookmark I'm not going to use--it doesn't even have a back--and it's not working.
:? :-(

The ones I used had tops and bottoms with a tool that held the bottom and a little piece to hold aginst the top, but these were pretty big, colser to the size you would use with canvas. Used a Snap tool once that was hand held to apply snaps sounds like similar to what your using.

Here's a video about the tool I'm using... and I noticed the raw edges on the back of hers isn't all covered either. I think it looks bad. Last year I know I didn't have this problem... but I guess I'll just apply them as best I can and call it good.

Okay. I figured it out. The pliers now need me to punch the hold first--then fit the grommet thorugh it in order to get the back layer secured nicely. Last year that wasn't necessary. Glad I figured it out--I need to finish them!

I know this wasn't getting many replies--just not a popular device, I guess. But I wanted to add the fix just in case others some day do a search and have the same trouble.

For those who mentioned the hammer and wood--that's the best way to do the two pieced grommets, but not the single ones.

Thanks!
