Didn't read all the posts but wanted to offer this suggestion -- when this happens and you...oh no....bleed on your fabric -- get ready to spit -- your salvia with take out the blood stains.....it's great to remember for all kind of accidents...and may your quilting never require this....it's a "occupational hazard"!!!!

When I sewed through my finger I did not realize that it was going through my nail then it pop through the other side of the nail...hurt like nothing has ever hurt because I screamed and pulled my nail out before releasing the needle soI pulled it out dragging it through the whole nail tio. ouchy. sorry tmj
