Default guide help

I am hoping someone can tell me what is the thin metal thing that came with my janome machine. It looks like some sort of a guide maybe? it is thin, long and bent, and what do i use it for

Could we have a picture of the item? Have you looked in your manual?

Are you talking about something like this?

https://www.sewvacdirect.com/janome-...SABEgJQI_D_BwE

if it is, there are tons of tuts on youtube and the web, google quilting foot with guide bar. Doesn't matter the brand, they are all used the same way...so watch any video and it'll give you the idea.

Oh yes thank you so much. I have watched how to use it, but how on earth do you attach to a waling foot. I have no idea.

There is a hole on the side of the foot and you just slide the bar into it.

What machine do you have? It looks like there may be different WF.

Here is one that shows the bar pressing onto the WF.

Another type.

I have that bar for my Janome 6600MC and didn't know how to use it. I knew it was for spacing your quilting lines but didn't know how to attach it. Thank you so much for the links. I will try this and hopefully have success.

Both great videos. Sometimes the first use does take some pushing of the bar--I was really scared the first time I did it! Have fun.
