Default Guild Christmas Idea

Each year the town where our guild is located holds a Christmas Tree Walk. Different organizations decorate the trees. For years our guild has made different ornaments. Last year we decided to pick a color scheme and a size and all make blocks that would be hung on the tree. We gathered them up after the celebration and turned the blocks into two Charity Quilts. We liked the idea so well I think it may become a tradition as we are doing it again this year.

Sounds like a lot of fun. Be sure to post some pictures, too.

You are multi tasking Christmas presents, use up your scraps, decorate your trees, fund raising for the guild, excersise as people walk around to view the different sites in the town and then gifting warmth. This is indeed a great idea, the whole community benefits.

What a great idea. I might "steal" it even though our town doesn't have such a tree. Maybe the nursing home could use one

Great idea. I love traditional things to do that brings friends and quilters together. We exhcange ornaments we make every year at two guilds I am in and it would be a great suggestion to let them know how you do it....with your permission of course. I'll be watching this thread to see.
WOnderful idea.....
