What weight Gutterman thread do you use for both machine and hand quilting. The metric has me all confused!

I am a newbie but have had problems in the past with Coats & Clark and switched to Gutterman. I am very happy. My daughter-in-law uses it and started with the variegated and loves it. It is right about some machines being fusier. We both have Jaonomes
