    Default Half Diamond for Lonestar

Is there a formula for making a half-diamond for a Lonestar?

I haven't heard of a half diamond Lonestar. Do you mean making a Lonestar with half square triangles??

I have seen a half diamond Lone Star where it is placed at the side of the quilt. I don't know if there is a pattern available but try Google and you might get lucky.

I need some of the individual diamonds to be half one fabric and half of another fabric -- can't figure out how to do it.

    http://www.printablepaper.net/category/isometric_graph
The above site has printable graph paper in various designs - like this one - that you can use for drawing out your own pattern for your quilt. Visualizing by drawing it yourself always makes the patter so clear, in my opinion.

I would sew 2 strips of fabric, then cut the diamond.

Ditto. Sew 2 pieces of fabric together and place a template for your diamond on the top and cut.

I love that pattern with the eagle. What is the name of it. I would like to put that on my bucket list.
