I went there in July, I have bought from them online and was excited to get to shop in person. The store is huge, the prices are Quilt shop prices. I look at the sale page online all the time and just assumed those prices are good in the store, they are not. I did get some Moda scrap bags, you have to ask for them as they were in the back, an employee had to take you back there. I also got some cuts from the scrap bins. I got some Sulky Totally Stable that must have been old, packaging different, that does not adhere when ironed. I don't want to sound like a sourpuss but I was disappointed. By the way someone I know who goes during the Paducah Quilt Show told me that they have lots of discounted fabrics during the show. I also went to Eleanor Burns shop while there and really liked her shop. Bought lots and signed up for emails for sales.

It is downtown. Only a few blocks from the quilt museum.

I have been there three times but always during the quilt show. And yes, they have bins of fabric in the back (just during the show I think) with discounted prices. Came home with a suitcase full of fabric each time. Love it.

I've been to hancock's in paducah. My husband drove me there when I was fairly new to quilting, ten years ago. I wandered and picked and chose and tried to make Smart decisions but it was hard to keep my logical self at the ready. My sweetie busied himself with I don't know what. (nor did I care. lol...) After a bit, I realized he was standing next to me. "Hi!" said I. He just smiled and said, "Do you realize we've been in here for four hours?"

Fours Hours??? no. I did not. I was clueless. I felt Drunk. So I let him guide me to the check-out. I had bags of things, even though I felt I was doing my very best to control my urges. We drove home and I believe I had to go to bed. hahaha...

Perhaps an experienced quilter would have been less shocked, less dazzled by what she saw. But as a newbie who needed Everything and who was so unaware of all that was available... my senses were bombarded. The quilty fairies took charge of my brain. And my credit card!

    It was a Grand Day.

I love buying from them online with their sale items. Always had great experiences with them. Also went there during the "big sale" they have while at the Paducah Quilt Festival. If I remember correctly, everything was $3.00 per yard! It was crazy, tho, thousands of quilters there!!! But we had fun and dropped $1000 between 2 of us. And that was just at Hancock's!!! The other stores in town were an entirely different story! What a great time and I highly recommend it!

My daughters and I went on a road trip last summer. The subject of the trip was Biltmore Estate so we drove there first. Then we meandered our way west. Hancock's of Paducah was definitely on the list once I knew we would be within driving distance. My daughters dropped me off at Hancock's when they opened, picked me up for lunch and we all went back after lunch. We did leave before they closed. :) It's a great store with so many choices of fabrics and fabric lines. We did wander through their warehouse. I don't know if we were supposed to but I just had to go back there. Overload for sure.
