Thanks! I do it the same way you do. Seems easier to me! I appreciate your posting the link!

It's new to me at least. I had been taught to wind the thread around the needle and then put the needle back into fabric. Hope this helps.

You can most easily find the little balls of perle cotton #8 on the internet.
You can also use white/ecru crochet cotton thread #10 in the big balls from Walmart. I've done this very effectively on a commissioned candlewicked quilt.
Using beeswax (again from Joannes) makes the thread easier to thread the needle and to work with.

We had a presenter at guild who used the Perl cotton and also said to use a chenille needle in size 18(? I think that was the size)

Thanks for the link. I hand quilted my granddaughter's wedding quilt with embroidery thread. Used all six strands. Not fun. Perle thread would have been so much better and less expensive!

I am sitting here with a bunch of burlap that has been cut into sections to make pillows. I have been thinking of what I can do to make them unique. This thread gives me some really nice ideas for stitching with pearle cotton. I always enjoy the ideas I get from others who view this website. This is so timely.
