This reminds me of driving with my DH. He would always point out something that I should see. "Did you see that?" my answer was always, "No, I'm watching the road so you can see it!" Really miss watching the road for him.

I have done a lot of knitting in the car and some tatting. Now my husband can no longer drive, so no more sewing in the car unless DD drives on long trips with us. Now I take the tatting, as it takes so little room. I have some in my purse at all times.

. How do you iron in the car?

I can't work on anything in the car, so I do a lot of reading, and it is a great time to listen to audio books.

I work on needle turn applique in the car. It's great as long as we're on an open highway. When we get in stop-and-go traffic or bumpy country roads, my stitches take a turn for the worse & I just end up pulling them out to re-do later.

I recently tried to do a little hand piecing in the car. It didn't go well. Seemed like a smooth riding car but not when trying to get the needle in a specific place. The worst part was trying to thread the needle! I recommend you have lots of needles already threaded.

Too bad you can't knit or crochet. Knitting is my go-to for car trips usually. I can also do cross stitch, but it depends on how bumpy the road is.

I think there are some good suggestions here! EPP, applique, bindings ... all good!

I take my bag of yo-yo's. DH says it is very relaxing for him when I sew in the car.

I think she means to iron ahead of time to be ready to sew in the car.

Thankfully, I don't suffer from carsickness. I take along EPP project or knitting, and of course, a good book to read. Enjoy your trip!
