I recently read a post about blades from Harbor Freight but there was no description of them. Can anyone supply me with more information about the blades? Thanks!

They are called carpet cutter blades, they come in 2 per pkg. for about $1.79. They only fit the 45mm rotory cutter, and they work great, just be sure and wipe off the oil that they have on them. And be careful, and make sure you use just one blade. You have to ask someone in the store to show you where they are at. The store has so many things in it...Hope this helps, you can also order on line.

These are the same blades you buy in your chain store or LQS for big $'s because they're packaged for us quilters. The ones at HF are sold for carpet cutting. My husband was a machinist & he says metal is metal, they might not be polished quite as well, but at approx dollar apiece (or less if you get them on sale, in Oregon, lol ) how can you go wrong? I've been using them for a couple of years and only ever found one that I couldn't use from the getgo, just toss it over your shoulder like Eleanor Burns and get another one out. lol
They fit any 45 mm rotary cutter you may have. I just checked and they're still on sale for $1.49

Happy cutting!

I use these and they are great. However, I think there are rotary cutters out there that have little pieces that jut out where the blades fit, so the blades need to have a notch in the hole, I believe it is the Dritz cutter. I don't think these blades will fit those cutters.

In my opinion, they dont last as long as your LQS blades. I don't I'll buy anymore.

Had to laff today at Sit n Sew, my friend said 'OH, have I found something neat..' I said oh?, she says 'there's this place called Harbour Freight, and I got 6 pkgs (all they had) of rotary blades for 1.49 for 2 in a pkg'. I said OH yeh, they're carpet blades....(for once I knew something before she did - thanks to QB...) hahaha She was elated to have found them...Even if they don't last as long, for .75 a pc, you can afford to change more often..
