I did make one. It had large squares of fleece & satin. I was having serger problems so it wasn't as nice as I would have liked but it was from a book by Nancy Ziemman (?) I did wind up putting the binding on with my sewing machine.

Kay Wood has a serger quilt called The 6 Hour Quilt.
It is a two sided quilt so when finished it is all quilted and just needs binding.

I put a top together with my serger one time, just for fun. It wasn't a QAYG though. It was a log cabin quilt, and I loved how it looked on the wrong side of the top--all those nice finished seams. The serger I had then didn't have any markings so I had to really pay attention to my seam allowances--it all worked out fine. I only did that on one quilt, and probably won't use the serger to make another one. My serger is noisy, and I pretty much only use it to make pajamas at Christmastime for my grandchildren...

I have never tried one...I dont use my serger very often...

The seams didn't feel as sturdy to me & it wasn't as quick as straight sewing on reg. machine (mine isn't). Don't think I'll do it again.

Was it difficult to have even and straight seams? I have just a basic serger and never use it - 'just wanted to know if it might be faster than sewing machine.......

I have an older serger & it didn't seem faster. I don't recall having trouble with the seams being straight but you can't mess up if you're using your cutting feature!
