    You think *that's* bad?

I used to work in the computer area of a large firm. One day I got a call to come to the new area (building addition to which a huge section of the company had just moved) because there was something wrong with a computer. Got to the desk and the screen was black. Clicked the mouse and tapped a couple of keys -- nothing. Said to the user "That's funny. It doesn't seem to have any power." Followed the computer cord to its end, which was sitting on the floor. Asked the user, "Where's the electrical outlet?" User said, "You mean it needs electricity to run?" Turns out the entire section had been built and furnished without electrical outlets for the computers. Still shake my head at that one.......

That is the first thing hubby always asks me. Had the modem on computer out. Turned out that the power plug had gotten pulled on the modem. Never knew it had power to it.
