I am always excited about a new project too! I love picking out the fabrics, and cutting and piecing, or appliqueing. It is almost always the quilting part that stops me. Not that I don't like doing it, but trying decide how to quilt the project. I know I can always stipple/meander and just get it done, but sometimes a quilt needs something special, and hard to decide what that should be.

Sounds like a truly fun project! I get excited whenever I make a Quilt Of Valor because I always try a different pattern and it is fun seeing how it turns out.
