Default Have you found your "perfect" machine?

Mine WAS my beloved Pfaff 7550 ( the real Ms Grace).
She went to the big fabric store in the sky almost a year ago.
Since then I have tried several other machines, but I just can't seem to "bond" with another machine.

What is your favorite machine for piecing?

*I have tried Singer Featherweight, Babylock, Singer 301.
Right now I'm using my Juki Tl-98q. It's good, but just "not it"

I have a Elna 500 electronic and she is 30+ years old now. She's a workhorse and rarely complains.

My Juki TL2010q and my Featherweight are my favorite piecing machines.

I love my avatar, my Mom's Kenmore from 1958. I don't have much to compare it to though. Before that I had a portable Kenmore from the 80's. I've since bought a cousin machine to my Mom's and use it exclusively for FMQ. Even though I have not auditioned a ton of machines for piecing, I do love to use Mom's.

I use both my 2662 and my 401. The 1/4" is good on both.

I do like my Baby Lock quilters pro which is now called the Jane. Haven't bonded with my BabyLock Crescendo which is terrible to FMQ with. Wish I never got it.

There are a bunch of Pfaff 7550's on ebay. You might want to check your local craig's list...

Maybe you can another pfaff 7550 somewhere?

I am truly fond of my pfaffs - they are from the 1980s.

I don't know if there is such a thing as a "perfect machine". I have several machines and they all have their good and bad points. Some do FMQ better than another, some piece than others, etc. I guess that's just the way it goes. But if you want your Pfaff back, try eBay,ShopGoodwill. In the area where I live, one of the grocery stores has a in-store trader. You might be amazed at what you may find. Good Luck!
