A tip: sew it together before you cut it...lots easier to match corners!

DonnaC--I just love your posted picture in your profile. Such clever use of strips. I don't know how to get a picture on my profile. Will have to get my daughter to help me.

sprice - That's Ami Simms' String Star Quilt in my avatar. I took her online class to make that project. She is quite awesome! Her gallery of "The Worst Quilt in the World Contest" is a hoot and worth checking out, for sure.

(It has sections of birds in a tree that you cut up and sew together to make the tree with more birds in it than you'd ever see in real life). I am going to google this too but always like to start here!
Thanks,

I just finished quilting this panel. Don't have it bound yet but love it. Earlene

Great tip on sewing first and cutting it second. Will do that.
Please, everybody, post pix of yours when you are done! I'd love to see them.

I really like panels but wasn't familiar with Elisabeth's studio. Thanks for sharing this... I'm now thinking of a project for this... Tote bag, maybe.

Yes I have completed this panel hanging and it turned out great. I hand quilted around all the birds and trees.....and now it's sitting in the pile of completed projects.
Had one spot that just would not meet..pulled out, repeated and pulled out some more..finally a permanent pen did the trick...but I do love these "birds in paradise"! Cannot get picture to upload.......

I found a pattern for a quilt made of that panel in The Quilter a year or so back and bought it and all the fabric but have not made it yet. Hope to get it made this winter. It is so pretty , I just love it.
