I've used chopsticks, wooden skewers and lots of other things. Never tried an emory board though. Great idea. I'm going to put some by my machines.

Interesting. What is with cats and emory boards/nail files? I can't use one with the cats anywhere near as they insist on rubbing their faces on them and biting them. I like the idea of using the emory board for pushing and loose threads, but I'd have to hide it in a drawer.

great idea, thanks for sharing. I will add a few to my sewing kit. I also use an old plastic stylis for WAY back when liquid tex was around.

I use chopsticks. I can sharpen them in a pencil sharpener if I need a sharp point and if they get lost, I can always get more at the Asian restaurant here.
