I use Quilters rule square-Block Lap Board it's a 12 1/2'' x 12 1/2'' love there rulers .

Glad you figured it out, SusieQ......at least the problems was too big and not too small. I'd rather waste an inch of fabric than the whole 6 inch square.

This is the ruler I was talking about. It works great and is well worth the price.

Pattern was not written to make 6 inch blocks, she mis-read the directions, I would imagine.

No, that wasn't it. I used charm packs because I thought it would make it easier. Wrong!
