heard about a new ruler (at least to me)

I just saw a lady on t.v. using a ruler that sharpens her rotary cutter when she uses this rule to cut fabric. Have any of you heard of this and where could I get one.

I was told by a LQS owner that if you don't cut with your blade exactly straight up and down that it will ruin your blades fast.
