Welcome!

My mother also used to live in H'ville (after I was out of the house) but we all grew up in Decatur.

She was right off Bailey Cove, near the Challenger Elementary school.

Small world.

Hi, I live in Huntsville. Do you ever shop at Patches and Stitches . They are a great quilting store. They are on Humes Avenue. Just stop in anytime and someone can help you with any questions you may have about quilting. Appliques are my favorites and, depending on the pattern, I applique with a blanket stitch by machine.

I do. I sent my mom a link so that she could join. She's the real quilter. I don't have enough time. I especially loved the log cabin star quilt I sawon here recently. It was gorgeous and the Lone star was my first quilt.

Welcome from Gastonia, NC.

Concerning applique, here are some great websites with information:

http://sentimentalstitches.net/instr...hine-applique/
http://sentimentalstitches.net/instr...hand-applique/

http://www.allpeoplequilt.com/techni...que/index.html

I'm sure other members will give you great information. This is the place to ask any question and there's so much support and help here it's amazing! !

Good luck on applique. I love to applique. I even use "used dryer sheets" a lot to help with applique.
