Thank- you for the compliments. These were the rows of quilt blocks I attempted to use the QAYG method from an earlier post but as you all can see....the attempt was unsuccessful so I will sandwich the quilt to the batting and back the old fashion way....

i think you're right. The more I look at the border print , the more it distracts from the richer colors of the blocks.
I auditioned a darker red, can't use it for this quilt, and it does make the blocks pop. So I will put it aside and bring a swatch of the darker red print with me when I go to the Road to California quilt show coming up in Ontario, California in 2 weeks. Thanks

I think the border fabric actually is the same red but it appears different because it has the tanned print in it rather than the grayed-looking one in it. I goggled the line - with which I am familiar but do not have any - and saw that the line used a few different 'complements' within it.
Personally I like the quilt as you have it.

I always prefer darker fabrics that frame the quilt. I look at picking out a border like you would a mat for a picture. You really want your piecing to be the showcase not a busy border print. But that is just my opinion. I would try to audtion a piece of a darker red you had in your quilt. By the way, you did a very nice job on the quilt. Looks really nice.
