Default Help - Choose an insert strip for Bargello

It is a challenge to come up with various ideas for a 12 x 18" quilt top that will be made into a Bible bag. I found this blog on a Bargello design and thought I would try it. Not use to working with 1" finished strip so instead of trying to sew another strip, I am going to add an accent strip to give me the width I need. Right now the quilt will only be about 11" wide. Which color do you think looks the best?? I am leaning towards the dark brown in photo #3. Wish I had a brownish black in my stash. THANKS for your help !!

I honestly like them all! Don't know how much of each accent fabric you have, but you could make the handles out of the same fabric to tie everything in. You are so generous to be making these.

I like the dark brown. The busier ones in the first picture are too busy I think. One that reads more solid like in the other pictures shows off the pieced strips better.

The superdark blue looks great, too.

You have my awe and admiration for being able to make a bag of any kind.

hugs,

I like the one on the far right of the first picture and the two dark browns on the eft side of the third photo. The bag will be beautiful!!

I like the brown on the far right. However, if you only have enough of the dark brown then I would use that fabric and, as someone else suggested, use the dark brown fabric for the handles to tie the colors together.

Hi there - I like the brown, and what a clever idea. I've finished my Bargello top, but think I am going to add about 6 more strips to increase the width a little. I'm so glad this is done. That night I slept all night for the first time in weeks. Next time I make one I won't be so stressed. Lol
