Help - Embroidered blocks with no backing
I just finished embroidering 10 blocks for a quilt. Now when I started thinking about quilting the quilt, I realized that the embroidery threads might shadow through to the front! Do you have any ideas that might help? Would a higher loft batt perhaps work?

I think the higher loft batting is a good idea. You also might want to avoid quilting to densely around the embroidery. Try putting the batting under your blocks and boxing it in with your hands to see how noticeable the thread is seen.

I really enjoy hand embroidery. Since learning how to quilt, I always put batting behind my block, because of the problem you described. It is the only solution I have found, but will watch your post to see what other suggestions others offer.

I just love embroidery and find it so relaxing. For the past several years I have been putting a very thin white flannel behind my blocks before doing the embroidery. It works beautifully for hiding the threads and is easy to work with. Good luck!
