I'm not very experienced with machine quilting yet so I don't have any ideas but I agree that when it's finished and washed it will be awesome and you won't notice anything amiss. I love it

I like it just the way it is. But I am not a fan of heavily quilted quilts. I like a bit of pouf. I love the pattern and the quilting just as is.

That's a very pretty quilt and I have not seen a single problem with points. Whatever you quilt on the white area will show up more than on the dark, so do what you enjoy doing there, with no worries. The quilting will draw the eye more than the piecing. You could do a little echo quilting around the shapes, or go for something fancier, such as petals. I'm not a big fan of stitch in the ditch, but it's good for certain quilts. My feeling about negative areas like your white is they're ideal to show off some quilting.

Love your quilt! Blue is my fave color. Now I will have to try this too.
I would be tempted to quilt straight lines of some sort --to sort of counter balance all the curves. But I know from experience that that will just enhance the things you say you want to hide. So....maybe more curves of some sort. Or wavy lines?

Thanks everyone! I think I might make pie wedges and do some smaller curvy designs in each wedge.

You might try tracing the area you want to quilt on onion skin type paper or a thin sheet of plastic. Then doodle around with a colored or black marker to see how the design would look. If you don't like it wipe off the plastic or get another piece of paper and try something. else. search for Leah Day and see some of her designs. Good luck and I hope you find something you like.
