It's great to start, but if you really want to be making larger quilts, you might want to look at something with a bigger throat. As the quilt is rolled up, it cuts into the space you have to quilt. So you might start out with about 10 inches but as the quilt is rolled up, you keep losing your space and you could end up with about 2 inches of room to do your quilting on. We started with a nice long arm and moved up to one with a bigger throat. Just something to think about.

I have been looking and doing lots of research on quilting machines, it sounds like a really good price, but are you going to want to do King size quilts?

I bought the grace frame pro and Juki and this is going back about 6 years now . It also came with the stitch regulator which sells alone for 500 for the total setup I paid $2000. The only thing I would change is the throat size of the Juki other than that I absolutely love it

Sounds reasonable, would you be able to try to run it with her machine in place? I think I would try it out before I purchased.

I have this set up only on a Little gracie frame. I love it.
I have made king size quilts with no problems at all. i paid $1200 for both machine and frame about three years ago. It definetly is a great buy.

I believe that model of Juki only has a 9 1/2" throat. I'm looking at mid-arms myself and told my DHI think I need at least 12 - 14" - hahahaha

Yes, that is a good deal and a good start. I have the same one and I use it all the time. There are limitations, but you can do a lot. Make sure to get the quilting patterns with it.

It is a great buy in my opinion. The throat space is probably only 10" but it is a great beginner set up

Sounds good. I know professionals that use that Juki, and they are very happy with it. I don't know about the frame, i only use my machine when I quilt.
