Here is a link to the template Jeanne mentioned:
http://www.quiltknit.com/Fun-Patch-T...Me_p_2469.html

Edit: Oops. Just noticed the template is out-of-stock and I'm not finding it elsewhere.

I'm trying to figure out the template's proportions. Looks to me as if the long side is 5", bottom side is 3-1/2" and the short side about 2".

I don't think a template or ruler is necessary for making the block. Just try playing around with the rulers you have on hand. I would probably do it with strips, sew at 45 degree angle-- which I would not even mark -- just use an easy-angler. then stitch an extra seam to make hst of the portion you'd cut off and you have some bonus blocks to play with.

$7.00 for the pattern. Now that is a good deal.

I have the paper template from Bonnie Hunter's Grand Illusion and I think it is the same angle.

Why couldn't you just take a 3" wide strip of two different colors, sew them together at a 45% angle like as if you were going to make a binding, then just trim it up with even amount on each side to make the
6"length(or 6.5 for the seam allowance)

Looks like OBW to me. (One Block Wonder) All the blocks are the same. The design is in the layout.

Wow thank-you everyone for the input not to mention suggestions on how to try and work around not needing the template.

Barb in Louisiana as I've noted before in other threads you are so wonderfully generous in creating visual directions and again, I thank you from the bottom of this visual learners heart! <3 This to my eye when made with the high contrast black fabric is such a gorgeous block.

I sent emails to not only the blogger that posted the quilt and also the lady that created the pattern, asked both if the template was included with the pattern as of this morning no reply from either. In the mean time this board has been so helpful with all the suggestions I don't think I need to worry about the template.

Just a side note I understand that it is summer but within three full business days I would have anticipated a response from the 'business' "Come Quilt With Me" regarding her pattern. Communication with customers and potential customers I would think would be a priority. Just my humble opinion regarding online business practices.
