I have an old quilt from a friend's daughter ready for surgery. It has quite a few seams that have come undone and frayed so sewing them together is not an option. I have decided to make rectangular applique pieces to hand sew over the open seams. As the blocks are in a regular pattern, I will have to put the same applique in several spots on the block to look even and balanced. Maybe you could do something like that too.

I thought about that but I'm out of that material (except for what I need for the Binding). But I did get the seam to stay together. The bad part is that the seam is kinda stiff. But it's better than the alternative. I just hope that it stays together. Am praying. Also the quilt doesn't really lend itself to applque. But if this doesn't work I will have to find some material to match and figure something out. Maybe circles. My daughter is into polka dots.
