    The one thing I would to start with is a zipper that is closed at both ends that way you won't have to put a stop on one end less bulk and use webing, go all the way around the bag for stability

    The bag that I have been happiest with has the straps that are attached at the bottom seam and stitched to the outside on either side of the outside pockets. There's no way those straps are coming loose, no matter how much I overload that big tote!
