Angry Help! I've made another gross error

I am working on a memory quilt for a friend of mine. One of the shirts is flannel & needs some kind of stabilizer. Dumb me! I accidentally ironed on Wonder Under instead of the fusible stabilizer. How do I remedy my problem?
TIA for your help.

I haven't made a t-shirt quilt before so maybe this is a stupid question but can't you just add the stabilizer anyway?

Can you fuse a super-thin fabric to the Wonder Under?

Or the lightest weight non-fusible Pellon to it?

This has happened before. What I was told is to lay a damp cloth on the Wonder under side and iron to get the Wonder Under hot and damp. Then try to peel it off.

Mr. Google & MSQC
Mar 22, 2014 - To remove any fusing agent that remains on the fabric, cover it with a damp, lightweight fabric scrap and press. Peel off while warm. Continue with new scraps until all the adhesive can be removed by sponging the area with rubbing alcohol--but be sure the fabric or dye will not be affected.

Thanks for your suggestion, RaggieMom! I was thinking about doing that.

Bearisgray, I was thinking about that too; however, I was thinking about using a used dryer sheet.
I'll let you know.

Thanks, Barb in Louisiana, sounds like a good idea, but too much work for this little project. I'll let you know.

Try it on a scrap. I do not know how many times used dryer sheets can be washed.

I would just iron a lightweight fabric to the Wonderunder. Trying to remove it may just cause a mess. A light weight fabric with the wonderunder should be about the same thickness as interfacing ironed to a square in my opinion.

Thank you for asking this question. I have a quilt that has been on hold here for awhile and the reason is this problem. I am 'fixing' someone else's work, not my favorite thing to say the least. Wonderunder was used on the majority of memorabilia on this quilt to hold things down instead of sewing or quilting. A big mess. Now at least I know how to get rid of the Wonderunder! This is a major undertaking that I have on my hands. Will you please post back to we all know just how well you were able to get the majority of this mistake off. Thanks
