I like multiple borders also. I would do red first, then the green. By the way, your quilt top is gorgeous!

I totally agree with bjeriann, 2" border of the red and then a 5 or 6" border of the green. Does your stripe have both the red and green in it?

I agree. I know you said you have a stripe for the binding though, and I'm a sucker for striped binding. :)

Depending on how big you want your quilt I would put a 2in. border of the green then a wider of the red.

I would have to see how the red and the green each look right next to the binding. Right now I am leaning toward the red or a skinny red and wider green. Can you post a pic of the binding fabric?

I don't care for the green-too washed out. Red border would look best.

I think the quilt needs a narrow border to contain the colors - like a really dark green, the a wide border of the red. If you use the red without a containing strip, then those red blocks on the edge will visually bleed into the border. It doesn't take much fabric. I cut mine 1 1/4 inches wide.
