I'd just quilt it and call it done. To me, it looks like the kind of landscape with no trees.

If you like a tree, what about an iron-on applique for the trunk and branches. For the foliage, you could cut up various green scraps into confetti sized bits, iron them on and free motion them on with a variegated green thread. More effort but would look great.

Boston, I love it the way it is.

I like Gay's idea of small confetti leaves. Otherwise, I think it's just fine the way it is.

A small sailboat way off in the distance. A tree silhouette. Just audition either. You need not commit yourself to it.

A large silhouette may be a bit dark, but adding a live tree is an easy solution. Raw applique or confetti is the fastest way.
You could treat the view as evening and tuck in a house or barn or two with a light in the distance. Then a silhouette of a person heading home would be a nice finish

I like it as it is, ... but I always get upset with Bob Ross when he starts adding a big tree to his paintings. They come out great, but I do get nervous. Just as with him, you are the artist here.

A tree in silhouette, a sailboat on the water, a cabin in the valley, a large bird in the sky. Or not—your choice.

I like it how it is but if you want to add "life". How about embroidering some 'v' s in the sky to represent birds.

That's a tough one. Anything you add should be to scale and it may be so big to be awkward or so small that it's impossible. I liked the embroidered "birds" idea or simply letting your quilting be the added bonus of anything to finish this. Good ideas.
