The father of my two sons is under hospice care for a brain tumor and I want to make him a quick strip quilt for his hospital bed...strip quilt because I am fairly new to quilting and do not know how or have money for long armer....but my question is....what is the dimensions of a hospital bed...width and length....really appreciate your help and I will be busy cutting strips of some(?) width....

I would assume 36 x 80 or near to that.

I'm so sorry for what you are going through. You are obviously a very caring person. I'm sending HUGS to you.... Hospital beds are close to twin bed sizes (39 x 72). I'm sending you Ditter's string quilt tutorial as it is a "quilt as you go" so you don't have to send it out to a longarm quilter. I made one and it is stunning and very quick to piece together. I think you are wonderful to do this. How about a stacked coins quilt? I am sure he will be happy with whatever you make. Hugs and prayers your way.

hospital beds are 80 inches long...42 wide...I sleep in one every night...they are longer than normal twin size beds
