Help Me Select a Quilt Pattern
Hi - I'm new to this quilting board. I want to make a modern, simple quilt in neutrals (not my choice as I like vivid colors), but it is for someone else. It will be queen size in neutrals (grays, neutrals, metallics, etc.) I have three quilt patterns that I think would look okay. I will try to attach. Does anyone know a quilt pattern that would compliment my fabric, or does one of these patterns stand out?
I would appreciate any help I can get. I can sew, but my creative side is lacking sometimes.
Thanks again,
LaDonna

Welcome! I like the last pattern the best, but it requires a pop of some color (orange in that quilt) to make it work, so it won't be as impressive done in all neutrals. My second choice for a pattern for a beginner is the first quilt. It's attractive and doesn't have bias edges to contend with like the second pattern has. I think if I were making the quilt, I'd add some dark brown to the mix to provide some contrast.

I think your #2 is most suited to the fabrics you are showing.
But it would be more eye-appealing if you tossed a couple of your medium grays that have the same value but no pattern movement/interest, and then added another print in the peachy, light aqua, and/or blue that you show.
I look forward to seeing your finished top, do share!

I like that first quilt quite a bit, and it seems that your fabrics would work well for that pattern. For some reason, Denyse Schmidt is coming to mind as I look at your fabrics, so maybe take a look at some of her patterns, which are also modern.

Welcome! I recently made a quilt for DD that didn't really appeal to my color pallet, but it turned out great.
I like this one ...

I love to do half-square triangles.
Good luck!

I kind of like number three, but it could be because of the colors that it's shown in. The colors that you have are very mild. Have these colors been picked by the person that you're making it for? Could she/he be talked into adding a few deeper tones?
This is one I did a few years ago. They are mainly neutrals, but with deeper tones.
