This was going to be my suggestion also - B&W looks good with anything.

Since all the blocks are black & white, pick your favorite color to sash them.

I like the idea of asking who you made it for what their favorite color is and then try some shades of that color next to your wonderful block.

I first want to say this is your first quilt? Wow! Amazing, well it looks like you have a variety of purple. What about a light purple like lilac or a soft pink. I agree with another post that suggest sewing them together.

You said you finished all the blocks but I wonder about choosing another deep color, burgundy, blue, purple, in acouple of blocks then echoing the color in the sashing in a slightly different shade.

I think I would lay these blocks out on several different colors and leave the room.... Walk back in and glace at it. After you've tried 3 or 4 colors you will know which looks best to you. I often audition different colors like this and then you will know which one does it for you. Good Luck.

I like the idea of using the recipients favorite color. Nice blocks!

Tough one. Your blocks would look great with a red sashing, but just as good on their own. Play with the blocks and your fabrics, they will tell you what to do. Looks great by the way!
