Search for the "Candy Hearts" quilt on Moda Bake Shop. I just did a small quilt with that pattern, but it's very easily extended to make any size. The hearts are adorable, and it came together VERY quickly!

I like I Spy quilts for kids .... so much to talk about and play "search and find". I like the idea of making a tote to go with it to carry her treasures and doll and quilt. Play size is perfect.

I have some boards on my Pinterest site with kids quilts that I have liked...you can scroll through them...There are also some fabrics listed that are inspirational and might get the juices flowing. http://www.pinterest.com/treasureit/

I would applique or hand stitch Ballerinas.(outline only if hand stitching) on a gingham check. This looks beautiful even into the late teens.

Yellow brick road with pinks, purples and princess fabrics. Can never go wrong. Fast to do, too.

I LOVE the idea of making one for the doll as well. She will love it too.

My suggestion is a small Take Five using pinks, purples and maybe a white with pink/purple flowers.

This is a quilt I did for my granddaughter. It is from a pattern called 'piece of cake 3.' It is a quick and easy one to do (one of my first quilts) here's a link to the pattern I bought to make it. https://www.thelittlefabricshop.com/...t-pattern.aspx

Moda Bake shop has a chevron quilt made with strips, not HSTs. It would be really cute in pinks, purples with white in between. The tute used charm squares but I would just use strips, even FQs.
