Help from other long arm quilters
I have just received my nolting funquilter and would like to know how you quilt your quilt using several different colors of thread. Do you go through the quilt and do all one color and then rewind it and do the next or change thread as you go?

Agree. I just change threads within the section of the quilt being worked upon, unless one particular thread will be used heavily throughout the quilt. Then I will use that one first, all over, since it will uniformly stabilize the quilt sandwich for me. Then I'll go back and use the other threads, one area at a time. HTH

You'll get used to changing thread colors. It gets easier as you become proficient. I cut the thread near the spool (any convenient place), tie on the new color, then pull it through all the tensioners and rethread the needle. I save all the yard-long threads for hand work.

I also do as the other girls suggest, change in each section as I quilt. Rolling back and forward is a lot more work than changing your thread as your go, plus you run the risk of big creases in the back. Most of the time I try to find a variegated that will work throughout the quilt.
