I have made a baby blanket for my sister. It is a pinwheel pattern and turned out cute. This is only my second quilt so I need some help with ideas for how to quilt it. I have a machine that will do a few of the decorative stitches. My mom said I should do in the ditch around each of the finished blocks. The last one I did I tied but I think that would take away from this quilt. Any ideas.

I've used the decorative stitches quite often in my quilts, have really liked how they turn out. Depending on the quilt, variegated thread can work really well too!

Echo quilting in each of the pinwheel blades would be lovely.
How nice that you added the prairie points!! Especially for only being your 2nd. quilt.

That quilt is so pretty!!! I love all the pastels. I was considering making one of these this year (I have the need to make several baby quilts this year) and I was planning to do traditional stitching in each triangle.

I thought about doing around the cream colored ones so I wouldn't have to match the fabric. Why would you do the colored ones and would you use a matching thread for each one?

Thank you for the nice words. I loved the prarie points. I think it makes the quilt look finished - plus they were a part of the pattern :)

I found the pattern online. It was a Moda web page. It was a very simple quilt that went together really fast. The hardest part was the prairie points and that was because they were teadious and I am a perfectionist ;)

Very nice quilt. I like the colors and the pattern you chose. I would quilt just inside the white triangles. That should make the pinwheel colors stand out more. I really like prairie points also.

Beautiful quilt!! I'd use a fancy stitch and "stitch in the ditch" -- that way your "oops" will look planned :D
