Default Help! re 505 Spray Problem!

First of all, 505 Spray has been a great asset in my quilt room for years ...
... so this is not a "hate" issue.

Yesterday, I was using the 505 and all of a sudden it quit spraying.
Have never had this happen before.

I had used it earlier in the day, and had used it the last two days as well.
So not like it has been sitting for any length of time.

I tried cleaning the nozzle ................ any other suggestions as to what might make it work?

The bad news ... there is still a lot left in the can!
Of course ... that would never happen when the can is empty!!

    Thank you for any suggestions!!!

I don't think it will work again. I think the propellent lost its pressure. If you bought it from a local store I would return it.

I would say stick a straight pin in the nozzle hole to see if it is plugged but I had a bad experience doing that with a can of gold paint in my youth. Yes it unplugged the can nozzle but the spray also got me in the eye. I can laugh about it now but it was painful at the time.

My HB is a retired painter and he always says when you are finished with the can, turn it upside down and spray on last spray and it cleans the nozzle and won't get stopped up.

Have no answers, just thoughts. When you said you cleaned the nozzle....not sure what that entailed. It's happened to me several times with expensive hair spray. On another spray glue can I have it says if you get it on your skin to wash it off with soapy water so maybe you could pour soapy lukewarm water into the spray "hole" on your can and then twirl a very fine needle in the hole.

Do you have another nearly empty 505 can you may have saved that you could exchange heads with ?

Can you take it outside and try to spray it upside down? It's worked for me with spray paint.

So very frustrating I know and, with the persistent elevation of prices , doubly so! Good luck!

I had a Sulky spray that sprayed out funny. I called the 800 number, they sent me a new one. It might be worth a call to the company.

The nozzle on my can broke, contacted company, sent me a new can. Had to provide number from bottom on can.

QuiltE, I had that happen on some spray starch. I exchanged the nozzle from another can, and it's still working fine.

I had exactly the same thing happen to me. The name of the manufacturer/distributor company in the US is in the small print on the can. I googled them, then sent an email to the customer service group that I found online, asking what I could do to get it working again. They emailed me back within a couple of days and said they periodically get a defective batch of nozzles, and they mailed me a brand new can for free. I was a happy camper after that.
