That has happened to me when I put two blades in. They are so thin that sometimes they are stuck together

Otherwise it sounds like you might have a dud. Happens to me sometimes when I use
those Harbor Freight blades. I think I'll stick with the original blades from now on.
Am using a Harbor Freight blade right now. Cut up 72 2-1/2X8-1/2" pieces for sashing and it is still nice and sharp.
I swear by Harbor Freight. Edie

Are you sure you didn't put in 2 blades by mistake? That has happened to me a couple of times. Check for 2 blades.

I have had this happen when I reverse the spacer. I have gotten so I put a paper towel down and put all the pieces with being careful to put each piece down in the order I took them off and with the "up" direction the side that was facing me. When I forget to do that I always do it backwards since neither the screw and the spacer are reversible on the Olfa.

This sounds like what happened when I accidentally put in two new blades at once.

I used to put off changing blades because I always had so much trouble afterwards. Was the spacer right? Did I twist the screw too tight? etc. etc. I finally bought the quick change cutter and have never looked back. As soon as I tried it, I gave both my old cutters away and replaced them with the quick change. Life is good.

I had this problem with a new blade and the old one. Changed matts and it was fine. I had the large white mat meant to fit on top of my cutting table, well it must not have been self sealing or something. I put down one of my other mats and had no problem
