Talking Help with thin blue line quilt

Hi all,
I have been searching for a pattern for a thin blue line lap quilt that I want to make for my hubby, and I can't find one. It seems simple enough and I was hoping someone with a quilt app could help me out. Thank you in advance.

I have looked for one myself for my son and believe one is available on Etsy in a shop called Sweet and Sassy Stuff, owned by Renee Heiss. My concern with this pattern was the size 34 X 58. I believe this person has also designed/printed fabric for the stars that is available on Spoonflower.

Yes, I saw that one to, but I'm wanting a larger lap quilt more like 60x80.

I found this free pattern. It's more than just the flag so I'm not sure if this will do for you and it finishes out at 86" x86". The fabrics can be purchased from Crafttown Fabrics.com
You can also purchase the entire kit for $88.50.

Thank you osewme, I saw that to. I'm really looking for the flag with the thin blue line running through it. That is the one my hubby wants.

Could you resize the pattern to be bigger or add a border to it?

I would make the flag one as-is, then add a couple of feet of fabric to the top and bottom to get the length you want. That way the flag will be horizontal instead of vertical, so he won't be covered coffin-style when he lies under it.

I just need the pattern so I can make the quilt myself. I thought about adding fabric to it but not sure how that would look. Thanks for all your ideas.

One other idea I’ve had for my son is to use the Etsy pattern for the flag portion then add borders with wording on them such as this; https://thinbluelineshop.com/collect...blue-line-flag. To add length I’ve also thought of adding the department name to the top and my son’s badge number to the bottom.
