Yes, I do. I find that flannel is really good when you do this. It sticks together so well. Sometimes I spray a very light shot of starch on the pieces and with the iron heat it really works even better.

I do the heat pin when ever I am piecing. I think that it is a great way to set the pieces together with out stick pins which sometimes moves the fabric.
