We ALL have DUH moments. I always get confused with ALL the abbreviation used on this website !! YIKES. I need an additional dictionary !! Keep up the sense of humor Elliott. Humor is better than most Drs. prescriptions !! Can't find IT in a bottle !!

I thought they meant the fabric too. And thought they must be nuts. I'm ok with a 1/4" seam allowance but if you have to be that down to the last thread accurate I'll never make a decent quilt. The one I'm working on now is full of errors. I'm just hoping they all blend into one happy whole when it's done.

Never, ever pick a pattern with curves for your first quilt.
On the other hand once I get thru it curves won't be an issue again.

How do you measure one width of the thread you are sewing with? When I watched a quilting show once, a long time ago, they said that it was one thread of the fabric. It doesn't really matter that much to me as I can never see one thread anyhow, so I just carry on.

All of my seams are in the same ballpark, as the others. I figure as long as they're all playing well together, it doesn't matter if a few are a bit 'less talented' than the rest.
