Hexi Addiction

Thank you Oksewglad. I've got enough hexies for 6 flowers now, so will try and sew them together tomorrow. I appreciate the encouragement.
Also, I found an earlier comment by Jakers1 about using a couple of paperclips to hold the fabric and paper together helpful.
The photos are so lovely. I'm learning alot.

I've been having a little play with one of my current hexi projects to-day and thought I'd share my progress with you. This will be a twisted star pattern when its finished but what it will finally be, I have no idaa. May applique it onto something.

You're very welcome, sewplease.
That's what's so great about the hexi project--you can start or stop when you want, QuiltnMyra. Then you can move onto another project--another hexi one perhaps! BTW--beautiful colors in this one!

Thank you for the kind words ladies. The hexies are half inch Gram. I love that site Kindle, have it bookmarked and use it for inspiration a lot, in fact the one I'm working on now (above) is a steal from a link on Grit's Life. I think its called Manuela's Garden and the link is Marianne. What do you think of La Passion? Sensational, or what !!!

All of these hexie quilts are so pretty. I am wanting to learn to make one. I have never made a single hexie before. The papers that they are basted around, when are the papers taken out?

June, there are a variety of basting techniques from glue, basting without going through the papers and basting through the papers. Personally I take the papers out once all the sides have been sewn to another hexagon, others leave them in - I found the best thing I did was to spend some time surfing the net for tutorials and forums like this for ideas (don't forget youtube as a source).
