That is a beautiful quilt and I may have to try and make one myself. I will remember all the tips on how to make it. Thanks for posting it

The picture is copyrighted so there may be a commercial pattern. It may be one of the quilts for valor patterns, since it is a quilt of valor quilt. Graph paper and colored pencils would make it easy enough to ( sketch) it out, then you can decide the size blocks you want to make. I would probably do 9- patches.

It almost looks like the Fireworks pattern by Susan Fuquay - a 1997 pattern.

I see 9-patch blocks. I would draw it out to see the different blocks I would need. I also liked Barb"s suggestion.

I see lots of half square triangles in your future! Sketch out your design on graph paper and use colored pencils to fill it in. You can decide how big you want your squares to be, then go with it! I, too, think I would sew it into four patches or nine patches to make it a bit easier to handle. Be sure to show us your finished masterpiece!

I wouldn't calculate fabric, i would make it scrappy, using many blues, yellows and reds.....and add fat quarters as necessary to add to your stash pieces

Did you contact their person that had it posted originally and ask where to find the pattern? My friend creates Quilt of Valor patterns and posts (some of) them as mystery quilts. She then sells the patterns on her www and on Craftsy. I believe the credit or $$$ should go to the original pattern maker when you are making (copying) their pattern.

Absolutely. I tried to contact the person without any luck. I found that she didn't reply to a few previous request from others shortly after posting the picture, and since has blocked messages to her.
