How big was your first quilt?

This has been such fun to read about everyones' "first".
For many years, I made flannel floor quilts for babies. Very easy... done as QAYG. (sorry, no pix on this 'puter.)
When I moved to the US I couldn't work until I had my green card, so I downloaded lots of free quilt block patterns and started to play with them to see what I liked. No idea what I would do with them, so the stack just kept getting bigger. About this time, my folks moved to an assisted living and had to downsize their bed, so I offered to make them a quilt for their new queen bed. I really had no idea how to sandwich or quilt this monster, plus I quilted it on my domestic machine. They loved it anyway...and my mom still uses it. I cringe everytime I see how bad the quilting is!!! LOL Oh well...it was a learning experience, and it is well loved and used.

My first quilt was hand pieced. It started out to be a 16 patch, and ended up being a scrap of sorts. I did 2x4, 4x4s, 4x8s, and mixed them up. It ended up being a king,as soon as it comes back from the quilter I'll post. That was 2 years ago. My moms quilting it.
