Sometimes there is really no difference, but I take the crisper side :)

Ususally one side is a litle bit frostier, I use the side I like the best, and often it is the reverse frosty side to soften the impact.

I use alot of batiks and sometimes there is one side that may be alittle more vibrant but overall there is no right or wrong side. That is the joy of batiks, especially for applique.

most times, both sides are the 'right side' ... and best of all, you paid for both sides. Choose the one you like best.

ps ... I have the same challenge and just give in to what is face up looking at me
