I group my quilting books by author and/or by technique (applique, baby quilts, paper piecing, etc.). I had two floor to ceiling bookcases full of quilt books last year, but have since gone through them and sold or donated about half of them. The ones I donated were ones that were older and unused for a long time. I really enjoy quilt books, so I still have quite a lot of them, but I go through them periodically for specific quilt patterns or just for inspiration. As long as you can find what you are searching for, most any organizational system will work.

I read this to help me get ideas. My books are all over the place, so this information might help me get organized!

I sort my books by type, paper pricing, scrappy, actual quilting, just piecing, I have a holiday grouping and I group the designers together...like all Eleanor Burns are together. I can usually find my books. Magazines, I group by publication, quilt world, easy quilts, etc.
