how do you put on binding?

I kept trying out different methods like Elmers glue etc.
Simple truth hit me, You need to see the stitchs under the binding in order to sew the binding over the stitchs. DUH.
Now I just use pins and watch where I am sewing so my binding is stitched over the stitchs. Works much better.
I refuse to hand stitch binding.
