Default How long?

How long does the temporary adhesive 505 stick? I was going to make some practice sandwiches, then I thought what if the adhesive doesn't last real long. Thanks for your help in advance.

Does the label give you any idea? I have one that only lasts about an hour, maybe 2, which I use for embroidery and then I have the Sullivan brand and it lasts until it is washed.

It lasts a long time -- at least a year, probably as long as you don't wash it out.

Well, I have a couple of quilts that I have yet to quilt and recently quilted one that was spray basted with 505 about 5 years ago. I did just use a tiny bit of spray on only the corners but they are still "ready" to quilt

It needs to be washed out. I don't believe that it "un-sticks" until washed.

I prefer to use Elmer's Washable School Glue diluted with water and sprayed from a $1.00 spray bottle. I tried the 505 and the 'over spray' was extremely difficult to get off the floor! So far Elmer's has worked great! Best thing to come along for quilting since Crayola Washable Markers!

I don't use it as I have a bird and afraid it may harm her.

Can you share your water to glue ratio to dilute that allows you to spray it? I have not wanted to try the glue dot method but would like to try your spray.

I also have a couple of quilts sandwiched with 505 a couple of years ago and they are still fine and together. I think the "temporary" means the quilt layers are still repositionable after spraying---which they are, but stay stuck together unless you peel them apart.
