OOOOOO be careful using sawdust for items in the house. From my experience making cloth doll, you must sterilize the dust by baking 200 degrees for about 45 min to one hour. There could be critters still in the dust and you will give access to house by using unsterile dust. Good idea though for stuffing. I prefer little plastic beads. They come in bags and are the same as those used in "beanies"

I have 4. just made 24 Chicken pin coushions for my Sew And Sew Group. We had our 21st birthday party yesterday and I want to give a gift. They are fairly easy to make

I have one magnetized one that I keep next to my machine. My June Secret Angel sent me one, and that travels around the house with me. I have pin cushion/catchall bag thingie that my Mom made for me. That is by my said when I sew or do counted cross-stitch.

Can you tell me where I can find the pattern for that? My quilting teach made one for every one in the class about 5 years ago.

You can PM me with the info, or post it here.

I have 7 going at all times. I use two at the cutting table and two at my sewing machine and two at the ironing board. Then I have one in my tote that goes to classes with me. Three of them are on threadcatchers and stay put. The others travel around a few feet or so.

This way, I always have room for unpinning and I always have a full pin cushion for pinning.

So I keep my pins in the container that they came in that I can put the lid back on. Its little and portable so I grab and go anywhere in the house I need to be!
me too, don't use one
